West Cleaning ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you contact us, hire us, or visit westcleaning.co, how we use it, and the choices you have.
We follow the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) — the federal Canadian privacy law — and any applicable provincial requirements.

What we collect
We only collect information we actually need to quote, schedule, perform, and follow up on cleaning work.
When you submit the quote form or contact us
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your email address
- The address or neighborhood where the cleaning would happen
- Details about the space (size, frequency, special requirements, allergies, scent sensitivities, pets, access)
When you become a client
- A scheduled cleaning calendar (your address, day, time, frequency)
- Access details if applicable (lockbox codes, key holding instructions, alarm codes) — handled with extra care
- Service-history notes (what was done, what to skip, what to revisit)
- Payment information — payment processing is handled by Stripe / Square / e-transfer (confirm which processor with Elroy). We do not store full credit card numbers on our own systems.
When you visit westcleaning.co
- Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited)
- Cookies for site functionality and aggregate analytics
How we use it
- To respond to your quote request
- To deliver the cleaning service
- To follow up — the 24-hour re-clean check-in, scheduling future visits
- To bill and process payment
- To improve the website — aggregate, non-personal site analytics
- To comply with the law — record-keeping, tax requirements, insurance compliance
We do not:
- Sell your information to anyone
- Share your information with marketing partners
- Add you to a marketing email list without your explicit opt-in
Who sees your information
Inside West Cleaning, your information is seen only by the crew members who need it to do their work — typically Elroy and the assigned cleaning crew.
Outside West Cleaning, we share information only with:
- Our payment processor (Stripe or Square)
- Our scheduling / quoting software vendor (if any)
- Our insurance provider if a claim is filed
- Law enforcement or regulators if legally required
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information with anyone for any reason.
How we protect your data
- Lockbox codes, key-holding instructions, and alarm codes are stored in encrypted internal records and shared only with the assigned crew, never by unsecured channels.
- Payment data is handled by PCI-DSS-compliant payment processors — we do not store full credit card numbers.
- We maintain general-liability insurance and a bonding policy that covers loss or theft involving access we've been entrusted with.
- Crew members are background-checked and trained on client privacy.
- Records are retained only as long as needed (typically seven years for tax/insurance).
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have about you
- Access a copy of that information on request
- Correct any information that's wrong
- Withdraw consent to our use of your information
- Request deletion of your information when there's no further business or legal requirement to keep it
- File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada

Children's privacy
The West Cleaning website is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

westcleaning.co uses cookies for two purposes:

- Aggregate analytics — IP-anonymized where possible
Third-party links
The site may link to external pages (Google Maps, Google Business Profile, Facebook, payment processor pages). Once you click out, you're on those services' privacy policies, not ours.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if our practices change. When we do, we'll update the "Effective date" at the top of the page. Material changes will be posted on the website for at least 30 days.
